I shouldn't have favorites, and I try really hard not to. However, the Himes Family just knows how to charm the pants off me. Figuratively, not literally you dirty-minded folk.
When mom booked the session, she requested modern, organic and non-posey. Well well well, what do you know...my specialty happens to be the non-posey, organic, and timeless types of sessions. I want to capture the movement, the love, the giggles, the silliness, the tenderness, and everything in-between. So as I was shooting this session, then editing, then trying to narrow down the images to blog, I knew I was in trouble. Because they nailed this shoot! So while having favorites isn't cool, I just can't help it. Hands down, this family has enchanted me and are total faves.
When I photograph a family, I want personalities and emotion to shine through. Generations down the road will see these images and know that Big Sis was a huge hambone with oodles of sass, and Little Brother was a happy and relaxed little man.
Once again shooting at my favorite private location here in Monroe, MI, we wandered all around the grounds seeking the yummy light. Hope you don't die from cuteness overload, because it's a very real possibility with these adorbs faces!
