I get to capture this handsome nugget every handful of months as his thoughtful mom and dad invested in my "Baby's First Year" collection.  And shoooooooot, I'm a lucky duck.  As you can see from the pics below, Mister Lukas is quote the photogenic ham.  Except, of course, when it's about 20 degrees out.  Then he gets a little fiesty.  But you can't blame a kid for having little tolerance for Mother Nature's nonsense...I totally throw tantrums about winter...all winter long. Ha.

We spent the fall at the orchard, and the winter at the tree farm.  As we're fast approaching his 1-year session with me next month, I can't deny feeling all verklempt.  *sniffle sniffle*  He's growing up.

I'm going to take a second to preach, so please hear me out.  We spend our children's first years taking copious amounts of pics of them doing everything adorbs, naughty and downright hilarious under the sun.  But we're not part of it.  In an age of selfies, cell phones, and an overshare of those snapshots, we're missing out on being PART of the moment, IN the moment.  That's where a photographer comes in.  While it's so important to document all those milestones with frequent snapshots, it's also important to have those cherished family sessions where the whole family is present.  It's one of the best gifts you can give your children, and one they'll cherish for decades.  Alright, the heavy preachin' is over.

Before I let my emotions get the better of me, here is Mister Lukas in all his handsome glory during his 6 and 9 month sessions with me recently.  Enjoy. :)
